Job Overview
At Datemil Inc., our mobile applications are central to how members experience our platforms. As Lead Mobile Engineer – Android Platform, you will guide the technical direction of our Android applications and help build high-quality, scalable, and reliable mobile experiences across our products.
This role combines hands-on development with technical leadership. You will help define architecture, improve performance, support new features, and ensure our Android apps remain stable as our platforms grow. You will work closely with Product, Design, Backend, and Data teams to deliver mobile experiences that are fast, secure, and user-friendly.
We are looking for a senior engineer who enjoys solving complex problems, mentoring others, and building mobile systems that can scale.

Key Responsibilities
Android Development & Architecture
Lead development of Android applications using modern best practices.
Design and maintain clean, scalable mobile architecture.
Improve performance, stability, and responsiveness.
Ensure code quality across the Android codebase.
Technical Leadership
Provide technical guidance to Android engineers.
Review code and set engineering standards.
Help plan and estimate projects.
Support team growth through mentoring and feedback.
Feature Development & Product Collaboration
Work with Product and Design to build new features.
Translate requirements into technical solutions.
Ensure features are reliable and easy to maintain.
Help deliver releases on schedule.
Performance & Reliability
Monitor app performance and crash reports.
Fix stability and memory issues.
Optimize startup time and responsiveness.
Ensure smooth user experience across devices.
Platform & API Integration
Integrate mobile apps with backend services.
Work with REST APIs, GraphQL, or similar.
Ensure secure and efficient data handling.
Support authentication and user data features.
Modern Android Technologies
Use Kotlin and modern Android frameworks.
Maintain compatibility with supported Android versions.
Improve build systems and dependencies.
Adopt new tools when appropriate.
Testing & Quality
Maintain unit and integration tests.
Support automated testing.
Improve release reliability.
Help reduce regressions.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with Backend, Web, Data, and Design teams.
Participate in technical planning.
Support new product launches.
Help align mobile work with platform goals.
CI/CD & Release Process
Improve build and release pipelines.
Support Play Store releases.
Maintain versioning and release notes.
Ensure safe rollout of updates.
Documentation & Standards
Maintain technical documentation.
Define coding guidelines.
Support onboarding of new engineers.
Promote clean and maintainable code.
About the job
Typically requires 6–10 years of experience in mobile or Android development.
Strong experience with Kotlin and Android SDK.
Experience building production Android apps.
Experience with modern mobile architecture patterns.
Experience integrating APIs and backend services.
Strong problem-solving skills.
Experience reviewing code and guiding engineers.
Comfortable working in fast-moving environments.
Strong communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience leading mobile projects.
Experience with Jetpack components.
Experience with CI/CD for mobile.
Experience with performance optimization.
Experience with large user bases.
Experience with security best practices.
